Biography

Professor Alice Pébay AM is an accomplished medical researcher specialising in the fields of neuroscience and regenerative medicine. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience (Paris, 2001) and a BA in Psychology (Paris, 2010). Alice’s research focusses on using patient stem cells to model degenerative diseases of the eye and brain. She has published over 120 academic manuscripts and is credited as an inventor of multiple patent applications. Alice has contributed to raising significant funds for research support, from competitive funding, philanthropy, and commercial entities. One of Alice's strengths lies in her extensive network of collaborators, both within Australia and internationally. She has successfully integrated her network into her strategic vision, fostering collaborations, and implementing progressive research directions. Alice has held leadership positions within Stem Cells Australia and the Australasian Society for Stem Cell Research, both leading committees of stem cell research nationally and abroad. She is an active member of various executive boards, including for patients and philanthropic groups. Alice is an effective communicator, who can engage with her audience and effectively convey her passion and integrity.
