Biography
Dr. Anisa Qamar has a strong academic, teaching and research background. She has a string of credits and honors in her career. Her carrier is comprised of a number of successes. In every competitive environment, she proved herself the best. During her academic carrier, she secured Chancellor Gold Medal securing 1st position in MPhil from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. Most of her studies are on different scholarships e.g., INFAQ in 1993, World Lab scholarship for PhD studies in 1999, Two postdocs with CERN from March 2004 - January 2006 and Feb 2006 to Feb 2007. She won research productivity awards for the years many times (2005, 2011, 2015 and 2016).
Dr. Anisa established a Theoretical Plasma Research Group in the Department of Physics, University of Peshawar (UoP) Peshawar. She developed variety of new courses in different spectrum of physics and taught to graduate and post graduate level students (MPhil and PhDs) in Physics. She got HEC funded projects worth rupees one million in 2008 for the development of theoretical research group in UoP. Then in 2015 she won PKR 2.4 million project from Directorate of Science and Technology, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the development of experimental lab in the Department of Physics UoP. Lately, she got HEC NRPU project of worth PKR 13.5 million for the development of cold plasma lab in the same department.
During her stay at University of Peshawar, she produced eight PhD scholars and thirteen MPhil scholars. Along with her teaching and research responsibilities, she is also working as the reviewer of international Journals. She has published one book, one conference proceeding from the Canadian Journal of physics, more than 60 research papers in international Journals. She has also presented her work at international level in different countries. Currently she is supervising four MS and five PhD students in theoretical and experimental plasma physics. She is member of different academic committees in a number of KP Universities, member of senate Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST). She also worked as the reviewer of the technical research projects submitted to different research granting agencies like Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Science Foundation, Pakistan.
She has been nominated as a country team leader for Pakistan by International Union for Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) in 2017. She got Pakistan membership from IUPAP in 2018 and working as a liaison focal person for Pakistan. She is the member of Organization for Women in Science Development (OWSD). In this regard she has organized two international conferences in Pakistan (2016) and Nepal (2019).
