Biography
Dr. Suvaluk Asavasanti is an independent scholar. Since 2021, she has been appointed as a committee in the National BCG Driving Subcommittee (Food Sector), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MEHSI), Thailand and the Food Science and Technology Association of Thailand (FoSTAT). She is a former director of the Food Engineering Practice School (FEPS) and an Assistant Professor in Food Engineering at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand. During 2015–2022, she had been responsible for increasing visibility, effectiveness, and sustainability of the FEPS program. During 2016–2021, she was appointed as a coordinator for Future Food Industry Program under the National Research Council of Thailand. She had been actively involved in developing the practice school curriculum and collaborations between Thai food industries and the universities to enhance their research capability and competitive advantage. She led more than 70 industrial projects, published more than 20 research articles and 1 book chapter. Her research interest includes but not limited to advanced food processing technologies, product development and valorization of biological materials, STI policy design and educational development. She received a doctoral degree in Biological Systems Engineering (Food Engineering) at the University of California, Davis, USA in 2011. She has been actively involved with Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), USA by serving as a member-at-large of Education and Outreach Division and a founding member of Women Resource Group, among many volunteer roles.
